It isn't until you see them side by side that you realise how small avocets are.

They are back in force and hopefully will breed successfully this year.

Wasp Beetle : Arnside:  19th March 2019

The larvae live on dead wood and it probably hatched out from some firewood drying inside. The Beetle lives on nectar and pollen.

Flame Carpet Moth : Arnside:  11th March 2019

Who needs a moth trap. This flew into the house as we came home in the evening.
